eCribbage.com is the coolest place to play cards online!

I highly recommend anyone who plays online games to head straight on over to eCribbage.com and sign up for a free account! I am signed on almost every evening for hours playing all sorts of variations of cribbage: Traditional Cribbage, Manual Count Cribbage, Kings Cribbage, Cribbage with Jokers, Back up 10 Cribbage, Team Cribbage, Cribbage with Muggins, and Lowball Cribbage.

Kings Cribbage is one of my favorites: Imagine if Cribbage and Scrabble had a baby, and that’s sort of what Kings Cribbage is like.  :)   You have to really try it to see how much fun it is.

The entire community has been very friendly in my experience, and the graphics and sound effects are a lot of fun as well!

Go check out eCribbage.com and come back here and post your comments on what you think about it!

Oh, and if you’re on Facebook, you can join the site’s Facebook Group to interact with all the other players. It’s a lot of fun.

New Wii Game – We Cheer

Check out this great new game for the Wii that has gotten great reviews. You may remember when I blogged about the upcoming All-Star Cheer Squad game, but this one looks even better! Based on the reviews, it looks like it’s fun, even for the guys (assuming you keep your blinds closed so your neighbors don’t see you waving your arms around in your living room). :)

Check it out!

WARNING – Non-Wii-related post! But cool, so I had to post it. ;)

So a friend of mine has a pretty awesome store online that I would encourage you all to go check out.  She carries some sweet vintage clothing and jewelry, as well as hand-knitted items like scarves and beanies, and more! A lot of this stuff would make for great holiday gifts for your loved ones!  In addition, 10% of your purchase will go to the ASPCA.  Check it all out here: Jujubug’s Eclectic Bazaar!

Active Life Outdoor Challenge

This game looks interesting, and based on the reviews on Amazon, I might just have to try it out. It basically seems like a more aerobic version of the Wii Fit, but you have a different “mat” instead of the balance board.  It’s probably better suited for more jumping around than the Wii Fit balance board.

Animal Crossing: City Folk for Wii!!

Wow, I loved this game on Gamecube, and it looks like this latest version of Animal Crossing will be even better.

Animal Crossing: City Folk for Wii

Here’s a quick description of the update to one of my favorite games:

If you were given the keys to your own community, what would you do? Go fishing, collect shells or watch fireworks with friends? Build a snowman, exchange presents with family or decorate your house for the holidays? Take a trip to the city, go on a shopping spree or visit friends from all over the globe? In Animal Crossing: City Folk, life moves at a relaxed pace, but the world brims with endless possibilities. Not to mention, this special bundle includes Wii Speak. With the new Wii Speak Accessory, it’s like you’re all in the same room. The microphone sits atop the sensor bar and picks up the conversation of everyone in the room to encourage a more inclusive experience. The Wii Speak accessory requires an on-line connection.

This game will be released on November 16, 2008… Be sure and pre-order it here!

Update!

Respond

Hi all, sorry it’s been a while since my last update, I’ve been in the process of getting ready to move, so I haven’t had much time to update my progress with the Wii Fit (or use it as much lately either). I know I need to keep up with it though, so as soon as I’m all moved in to my new place, regular updates will resume. In the meantime, I will be posting as often as I can with the latest info about Wii Fit accessories and gaming news that I dig up.

Thanks for your patience!

Feel the burn with Wii Fit Aerobics Boxing

July 18th, 2008 by Darren
Respond

I have been testing the Wii Fit aerobics workouts quite a bit more recently, and one of the more “intense” workouts is the boxing punch bag exercises. You can really work up a sweat, especially if you get into the punches (using the Wiimote and Nunchuk Controller!) The music does get a little repetitive over time, but not horribly so.

You can score more points by timing your steps and punches correctly, and you get extra points for punching harder (just don’t throw your elbow out!) I highly recommend the boxing if you want to work up a sweat quickly without too much running/jogging around.  Crank up the heat in your apartment while you’re at it too (or just turn off the air conditioner)! :)

Shaun White Snowboarding

These games using the Wii Fit Balance Board are coming fast and furious! Here’s another one, this time from Ubisoft. Shaun White Snowboarding looks to take full advantage of the Wii Fit Balance Board combined with the Wiimote and Nunchuk Controller to do tricks. I love snowboarding games (having played all the SSX games in the past) so I think I will definitely have to get this when it comes out!

Check out this trailer, released at E3 2008, and let me know what you think!

All-Star Cheer Squad Game to use Balance Board

July 16th, 2008 by Darren
Respond

For all you cheerleading and “Bring It On” fans out there, here’s an upcoming game that will probably be a lot of fun – All-Star Cheer Squad.

All-Star Cheer Squad Gameplay

It looks like gameplay will be “DDR-like” with the added ability to use the Wiimote, nunchuk, AND Wii Fit Balance Board. My sister Denise (formerly of Pioneer High School’s National-winning Cheer Team) would definitely get a “kick” out of this game. Please pardon the horrible pun! Hop, cartwheel, round-off, or back-handspring over to IGN for the Full Preview!

Balance board tips…

July 11th, 2008 by Darren
Respond

I’ve come across some posts online about people’s balance boards being way off when calculating weight/BMI. This can happen if you are using the balance board on thick carpet – you MUST use the feet extensions on a thicker carpet or very soft surface, otherwise the board won’t be able to measure your weight right.

Also, make sure you have the Power button on the balance board facing AWAY from the TV, otherwise the system will get confused and think you are stepping on it backwards!
